You may travel with your pet on the condition that you book a private compartment. No costs are charged for travelling with your pet. Only dogs and cats are allowed.

Please note: Travelling with Dogs and Cats – House Rules

  1. Pets are allowed on European Sleeper trains only if the owner has booked a private compartment. Only dogs and cats are permitted. The transport of other animals on European Sleeper trains is strictly prohibited.
  2. A maximum of 2 cats may be transported. Cats must remain in their travel carrier.
  3. A maximum of 2 small dogs or 1 large dog may be transported. Large dogs must wear a muzzle when outside the compartment in the corridor. Inside the compartment, the muzzle may be removed unless otherwise requested by our train staff. Train staff always have the right to enter your compartment.
  4. Dogs and cats must remain under the supervision of their owner in the booked private compartment. The owner is responsible for any damage caused by their pets.
  5. Dogs must stay on the floor, not on the seats or beds. You must use a dog blanket provided by European Sleeper on the train.
  6. If the transport of pets results in cleaning costs higher than usual, these costs may be charged to the owner afterwards.
  7. Travellers with pets must comply with the laws and regulations of the countries they travel through (pet passport, vaccinations, etc.).
